Talk about warmer...now THIS is WARMER!

  • Kids/Lambs:

WOW! The snow is almost all gone, it was over 50 degrees yesterday!  I know this isn't spring, but let me tell you it sure felt good to go out without all the coveralls, hat, mittens, and boots.  This weather is suppose to last for quite a few days.

This has been a good week, Monday we went into town to pick up some groceries, return library books, and return some yarn that was the wrong color.

On Tuesday we began spring cleaning.  First we moved everything from the Kitchen into the diningroom or just into the center of the room.  Then the walls and ceiling were washed.  We had talked of changing the paper boarder, but instead we found some leftover paint, from another room, mixed it with someother leftover paints and came up with a nice Perriwinkle Blue color.  Then we used that to paint the bead board wainscoat.  What an improvement!  Now the room looks much more together.  The only cost was for a gallon of "London White" paint to touch up where there were some dings.

I also had Meals to deliver, which was a quick job done.

Wednesday, brought the usual Meals and Fiber meeting.  I was also able to make a stop to pick up a book I loaned  a friend back in late fall.  I have been having some pain in my hands and arms again and need to start doing my self adjustments from the book Pain Free by Pete Egoscue.  It really does work!

Thursday we work hard and long on the Kitchen, what a difference!  I am really happy with how it looks now.

Friday and still more finishing and then we did the half bath.  Walls and ceiliing scrubbed and again some paint touch up.  No cost at all there as we had leftover paint from the first time painting.

Two rooms all nice and spit spot, one more and the back of the house will be done.

Saturday, still getting everything back to where it belongs or junked or put away somewhere else to make room for other things.  The only thing left now is mopping the Kitchen floor, with the Scullery looking so very sad.

It was so nice and warm, during our late break, Husband and I took the rockers out to our side porch and sat in the warm (60 degrees) sun for a bit.  February 7th let the porch sitting begin!

In the late afternoon, Middle Son called and said that his family and Daughter were meeting at the bowlig alley in Ovid for some recreation and wanted us to come by.  After cleaning up we headed out.  They were all there and had started to bowl.  I decided that I wouldn't, as my shoulder has been giving me some trouble.  We were there to cheer on the "Bowlers" who were having a good time.  We also shared a large pizza and pops.  It was a nice break and a good visit.

You couldn't tell by the bowling alley that there is a Recession on...there were two Birthday parties being held and there were plenty of people and one really big stack of gifts!

We were back home by 8:30 PM.  I did my goat chores and then spent the evening watching TV.

Today will be a day off and then Monday...look out Scullery here comes the cleaning crew!

We have our taxes done on Monday afternoon, then the usual Tuesday and Wednesday Meals, Thursday the plan is to go to Brother's house and pick up the things he made for me and if the ice will hold try ice fishing.

Almost forgot, a week ago I planted spinach in the greenhouse and I saw sprouts on Friday.  With any luck we may have fresh greens by the end of March!  Yum!

The sun is shining and most of the snow is gone, only patches left.  Time to get a roll on and get the citters fed and milked, so i can spend the rest of the day just doing stuff.

Onward and Upward.
