Saturday Musings...

  • Kids/Lambs: If all goes the first should be due in May!

I can't believe it, it is 7:30 AM on December 27 in Michigan and it is almost 50 degrees out and it is raining with thunder and lightning!  A few days ago we got a foot of snow!  Crazy!

My AI attempts have been a real learning experience!  I decided to borrow a buck from a friend, so that he could breed the virgin does naturally.  He has done his job so far.  I have a few days to go, before he girls are schedualed to cycle again, here's hoping eveyone doesn't!  The two milkers I did finally get bred, I think, by AI.  One has already missed a cycle, the other is due on New Years!

Along with the loan of the buck, he brought with him, Pink eye!  So, I am learning how to treat that.  What a mess, everyone got it.  Some fought it off quickly with no ill effects.  Others, well I sure hope that they recover from the cloudy eye covering that is making them blind.

Our Christmas was differnet this year, with all the snow and stuff our Matte Family Christmas Eve party was small, say from 20 guest the usual down to two guests only.  Then the Lee-Matte gathering (that being just our kids and their's) was smaller as well.  Plenty of ice in Ann Arbor keeping home Middle Son and Family.

I also have a Christmas get together planned with my Brother, don't know when as yet, but figure it will be sometime pretty soon.  He and his wife are both retired, so maybe we can get together during the week.

Our New Years plans are the usual, just the two of us at home waiting for midnight, then to bed shortly there after.

I am hoping for more blog time this next year, but time will tell.

Lots of things I want to do this coming new year.  Will be interesting to see how everything turns out.

Onward and Upward...
