  • Kids/Lambs: Doing well!

May 7:  Missed a few days, but to bring you up to date...Sunday was a quiet day at

home.  Monday, we finished the goat shed cleaning.  What a job!  We must remember to

clean it once a year at the very least.  Tuesday, my milk customer called to see if we had

any milk to sell, she will be coming on Saturday to pick up 16 gallons we have in the

freezer, I also mowed lawn and moved the goats into the clean shed.  Wednesday was

the usual, Meals and Gathering.  The triplets are doing fine, we weighed them on

Tuesday and each one had gained about four pounds.

Today will be Grandparents Day at Leonard Elementary School with DHB.  Had a nice

Grandparents Day with DHB.  Got to see her classroom and she read several stories to

me.  The whole class sang a couple of songs as well.

When I got home I decided to take the rest of the day off and Husband and I sat on the

porch until it was time to get dinner.  While preparing dinner Oldest Son showed up.  He

had taken DHB to softball practice and stopped by here while waiting for it to be over.

The rest of the evening was the usual, dinner, chores and TV.

There are three does who in ten days will be due, all on the same day.  Things will be

hoping then.

May 8:  Happy Aniversary, Big Brother and Wife.  Forty four years today!

Wow, I got a big job out of the way today, I got the sheep sheared!  There are only two of

them, but it is always quite the job.  We decided to move the sheep to a pasture of their

own, and since we had them on halters we thought we might as well get them sheared

before moving them.  It worked out good and all was done in about an hour.  I have

gotten so I can shear a sheep in about 15 minutes, which is a lot faster then it used to be.

After shearing, I planted another SFG box plus four squares of another.  Husband

finished the forth box while I was planting.

When we had that done we had our lunch and then took a ride to Pittsburg Corners to

look at a hay rake a friend said was for sale there.  It turned out to be not what we

wanted.  We headed back towards home, but first we stopped for an ice cream at the

Blue Moon.  While we were eating our cones, we decided to find where an auction will

be held near by.

When we got home it was time for a porch monkey session.  I took a nap and it was time

to start dinner.  We grilled steaks and had baked potatoes and asparigus from the

garden...yum~!

We had been invited over to Oldest Son's place for a bonfire, but we still hadn't gotten

chores done yet and it was getting late, so we ended up just staying home and watching

TV, then going to bed.
